Cynthia Lawson Jaramillo 

Cynthia Lawson Jaramillo is a Brooklyn-based Colombian digital artist, technologist and educator. Since 2003 she has worked at The New School where she is currently Dean of the School of Design Strategies, Professor of Integrated Design, and Director of the DEED Research Lab. Her scholarship and teaching lie at the intersection of design, social impact, equity and inclusion, and entrepreneurship.

Cynthia has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá) and a Master’s in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University’s ITP. She lives in possibly the smallest neighborhood in Brooklyn, Greenwood Heights.

Cynthia attended the 2014 conference in San Marcos, Texas; joined the organizing committee in 2015; and hosted DEL 2016 in New York City and DEL 2020 online. She has hosted several DEL In Betweens and will co-host the NYC “DEL Hub” in 2023.
