Students on AI

    For the 12 April 2024 DEL In Between, we will host a panel of art and design students will discuss their experiences and perspectives on the uses of AI. 

    Panellists include:

    Stephany Silva Fajardo (Penn State)

    Born and raised in Bogota, Colombia (1991), and currently residing in Winston Salem, North Carolina, Stephany Silva is an artist and designer working towards her bachelor’s degree in digital Multimedia Design, and a Digital Arts Certificate from Pennsylvania State University. Stephany holds a degree in Social Work and Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro which she obtained in 2014

    Working adeptly across various mediums – from traditional to time-based, as well as digital expressions – Stephany is deeply passionate about design and the expansive realm of art. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Stephany is a proud mother of two inspiring, powerful, and insightful girls. They serve as constant reminders of the strength found in embracing one’s roots while reaching for new heights.

    Briana Hacksisombath (Texas)

    Meet Briana Hacksisombath (sher/her), based in Dallas, Texas. She is on the cusp of completing her final semester at Texas State University, where she is earning her Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Innovation and Computer Science.

    Briana’s expertise lies in web design and development, where she effortlessly blends art and technology to create practical solutions. Her proficiency in AI tools streamlines the design process, resulting in precise and efficient outcomes. But Briana’s interests extend beyond the screen. She finds fulfillment in pursuits like half marathon training and CrossFit, showcasing her dedication to both physical and mental well-being. Additionally, she passionately supports startups and non-profits, aiming to make a real difference in her community and build sincere relationships.

    Tallulah Moynihan (The New School)

    Tallulah Moynihan is a junior at the New School, NY majoring in Environmental studies. Originally from London, she moved to New York in 2016. Her interests include how our built environment intersects with social and cultural values, particularly how aspects of daily life such as food, medicine and well being both impact and are impacted by the environment.

    Recently she has been exploring the symbolic relationship between human and nature. She’s interested in the disconnect many people feel with nature and the role of spirituality in reinvigorating the environmental imaginary.

    Yiyang Lu (UAL)

    Yiyang Lu is a recent graduate with a Master of  Arts in Fashion Media and Communication from the London College of Fashion, where she earned her degree with distinction.

    Specializing in storytelling and worldbuilding, Yiyang has expanded her expertise into AI artistic identity and human-AI interaction design. Through the innovative use of gaming engines like Unreal Engine, she creates experiential and immersive interactive experiences that challenge our anthropocentric relationship with AI.
